Counselling for those with endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, ME, chronic fatigue and women's health issues in Edinburgh and Online

Perhaps you’ve spent years being told your blood tests are normal. Perhaps you’ve been told the pain is “just part of being a woman.” Perhaps you’ve started doubting your body, your instincts, or your own experience. You may finally have a diagnosis, or still be fighting to be heard. Wherever you are in that journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I offer counselling for people living with chronic illness and women’s health concerns in Edinburgh’s West End (10 minute walk from Haymarket). and across Edinburgh for walk and talk therapy.

Chronic Illness Counselling Edinburgh

Processing Medical Trauma and Reconnecting with Your Body in Edinburgh

For many people, receiving a diagnosis for chronic conditions can take years. Conditions such as Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and autoimmune conditions are often misunderstood, overlooked, or difficult to identify through standard tests.

Many people living with these conditions share similar experiences, being told that their bodies are “fine,” that test results show nothing, or that pain is simply something to accept. For many women in particular, painful symptoms may be normalised or dismissed for years.

The journey towards diagnosis can be exhausting, frustrating, and at times deeply isolating. It can involve years of advocating for yourself, searching for answers, and trying to make sense of symptoms that others may not fully understand. Over time, this can impact your relationship with your body, your sense of trust in medical professionals, and even your confidence in your own experience.

Counselling can offer a space to process these experiences, reconnect with your body, make sense of what you have been through, and begin to find a way forward with greater self-understanding, compassion, and support.

How does your Edinburgh Practice address the emotional impact of long-term medical diagnosis?

Living with a chronic condition required navigating a continuous cycle of grief, frustration, and systemic medical exhaustion.  In our quiet West End therapeutic space, we look beyond the purely physical symptoms to safely unpack the mental toll of your diagnosis.  We focus on processing medical gaslighting, managing identity shifts, and building emotional coping tools to help you live alongside your condition without being entirely defined by it.

Ensuring physical comfort and reducing sensory stress is a priority for my counselling practice.  The West End building features a quiet, private entryway and is located steps away from the main tram line and Haymarket Station.  Pay and display parking is also available just outside.

There is a lift that you can take to the third floor which is where we will meet, allowing you to transition smoothly into a calm, comfortable room.

Yes, I fully understand that chronic illness is unpredictable and that a sudden flare-up can make travelling to a physical office impossible.  To support your physical needs, my Edinburgh practice is built on complete flexibility.  If you are experiencing high pain or fatigue, we can seamlessly switch you in-person West End session to an online video appointment, allowing you to access specialised therapeutic support from the comfort of your own home.

I work from my West End Practice, 10 minutes from Haymarket Station.  I also work across Edinburgh for walk and talk therapy.

Not based in Edinburgh? If you live outside the Lothians or prefer to stay in your own space, I provide specialized virtual support through my [Online UK Chronic Illness and Women’s Health Counselling] page.
